SEA runs parent information sessions for parents and caregivers who want to be active in this area of their child’s education. These evenings are connected to in-classroom programs and are held via Zoom. These sessions cover:

  • what will and won’t be covered in our classroom programs (and the language we use to talk about certain topics)
  • why it’s important to talk to your child
  • tips on how to talk, what to say and when
  • how to kick-start or continue conversations
  • tips on how to answer difficult or uncomfortable questions
  • what to do when you get caught unprepared by a tricky question
  • where to go for further information and support
  • resources for parents and their children

All SEA school-based programs are age-appropriate, and cover not just anatomy, puberty and reproduction but also body safety (protective behaviours), respect, friendships and the risks of technology. Their courses are devised in line with the Victorian Curriculum, and are run with sensitivity, patience and humour.

Below is the link to the SEA website which outlines the programs being delivered.

Fruit donation from Wollworths Carnegie

CJC has been lucky enough to receive a weekly donation of fresh fruit for each classroom, from Woolworths Carnegie. The students can enjoy a fresh piece of fruit in their classroom during the day. This fruit should not act as a replacement for fruit packed in your child’s lunchbox, however, is offered as an additional piece for those students extra hungry! CJC extends their thanks to the team at Woolworths Carnegie.
