YOUNG VINNIES EASTER VISIT AND EASTER EGG DONATIONS

As part of our celebration of Lent, Miss Moreton and some of our very own Year 10 students travelled to Trinity Residential Care Facility in Duncraig to spread some Easter cheer to the residents by talking to them and gifting them with chocolate eggs and homemade Easter cards.

We were very excited to reach out to this wonderful organisation once more, as Sacred Heart held an afternoon tea filled with Irish dancing for St Patrick’s Day a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast sharing stories and listening to the very interesting accounts of the past, some of which were by residents who previously attended Sacred Heart Girls' College in Highgate.

It was a real treat for both the students and the residents to come together and meet in this way, forming connections and having great conversations. This trip made many people very happy, warming the hearts of both children and residents in a celebration of the Easter season.

A large quantity of Easter eggs was kindly donated by the Year 10s. Boxes of these eggs will also be distributed to outreach centres for the homeless such as The Shopfront, Passages and Grace Café and to Silverchain for their elderly patients. Thanks to the Year 10s, there will be many happy faces at the above organisations when the eggs are distributed on Easter Sunday.
