YOUNG VINNIES KIDS FOOD FOR KIDS
The below request was recently sent to the College by No Limits, an organisation that helps the needy in the northern suburbs:
“I had a meeting with East Butler Primary School this morning which is struggling to support a group of 30 students coming to school each day without having eaten breakfast and with no lunch who need some help. Is there any chance you are in a position to try and help with any food which can be donated?”
In action of their request, 25 Year 8 students made 40 lunches in the Home Economics Department for the children. The sandwiches were ham and cheese, salami and cheese and Vegemite and cheese as these types of sandwiches can be frozen if not given out to children on the day. There was also an apple and a carton of long-life chocolate or strawberry milk.
We would like to thank Bakers Delight in Mullaloo for donating the bread and the Pullella family (Noah, Year 10 and Jayda, Year 11) from The Herdsman for the apples. Thanks also to the Home Economics staff for their help.
Our Young Vinnies group and the Year 8s who made the lunches have truly put their faith into action by helping other children who are in need. East Butler Primary School Deputy Principal Ms Michelle Head collected the sandwiches this morning with a lot of appreciation and joy.
