French News
On 24th and 25th October, our French teachers participated in the annual AAFEBS conference which was held in Melbourne. The AAFEBS is the network of the French bilingual schools in Australia, and it was a great opportunity for our French teachers to meet, share with and learn from other French teachers from around the country.
The conference was also the occasion for our school to celebrate the renewal of our Label France Education seal which is awarded by the French government to schools around the world offering high quality French programs and teaching non-French subjects in French. This is a recognition of the quality of our French immersion program.
In the same week, GEC was happy to welcome special guests from the French government. Arthur Billerot, a representative from the French department of Foreign Affairs and Guillaume Cario, a representative of AEFE, the agency for French education overseas came to visit our school and learn more about our French programs.
It was a busy and successful week!

Théâtre en français pour les élèves en 7C - Drama in French for students in 7C
Students in the Year 7 French Immersion class had two fun Drama workshops with The French Loop all in French!
They played some fun drama games in French including improv and mimes. There was lots of laughter and enthusiasm from the students while they practised French in an engaging way. They showed great team spirit and confidence!
Bravo 7C! Merci Natasha Muller from The French Loop.
