Principal's Report

October 2022

This past few weeks has seen many Victorian communities face the worst flooding the state has experienced in decades. The effects on impacted communities will likely continue for some time, especially given the predictions of ongoing rain in some areas.

Self-evidently, this is and will continue to be a very difficult time for some of our students, their families and our community and our staff. Please let the college know if you have been impacted by this event or any other challenge at any stage and how we can support your student.

As we face these new challenges, we are also able to celebrate the outstanding work that continues to happen in our school.

Research is very clear as to the importance of celebrating success in everything that we do in life. In schools, and at Kurunjang SC in particular, it is critically important that we celebrate and recognize the outstanding things that students accomplish, both inside and outside of the College. The recognition of students’ success foster strong relationships among students, families, the college, and the community and creates a positive school culture where students feel valued. We as a school intend to continue to add further new events to our program that demonstrate the multitude of talents that our students have.

In the next month we will have some wonderful opportunities to celebrate our students hard work and endeavour.

I invite all of our school community to attend our four traditional celebration events that we offer at this time of the year; the KSC Music Concert on the 15th of November, the Year 12 Valedictory Celebration on the Thursday 17th, the WEC VET awards on the Tuesday 22nd November, and it all concludes with KSC Awards Ceremony on Thursday 8 December 2022 at Tabcorp Park.

Please pencil in these dates in your diaries and do look out for the detail as it is published over the next few weeks. If you require any help and further information at any stage please feel free to contact the college.

As we move well into the final school term of this year, thank you for all your work. This has been another challenging year, but we have risen to every challenge, and I have every confidence that together we will continue to do just that.
