(Acting) Principal's Report

Angela Dawson

Principal Appointment

It is an absolute honour to have been appointed the next Principal of Valkstone Primary School.

Our school is a buzzing place of learning and fun, with amazing students, wonderful staff and supportive families. I very much look forward to working with you all over the coming years in my new role, and also look forward to sharing in your child's/children's learning journey.

Please remember that I am available to chat, so please find me out on yard duty before or after school, or give the office a call and we can arrange a time to meet outside of these times.

Playspace Works

I am pleased to share that our new play space is officially finished! As soon as the temporary fencing is removed, I look forward to seeing smiling faces around it and hearing the sounds of positive play.

Students not returning in 2023 - Prep to Y5

If you know that your child/ren will not be returning to Valkstone in 2023, please e-mail the school office at valkstone.ps@education.vic.gov.au to notify us as soon as possible. Please include details of their last day with us here at Valkstone, the name of their new school, and a forwarding address if applicable.

Please note that if your child is currently in Year 6, this does NOT apply to you as we already have all their transition information.

Acknowledgement of Country

On behalf of the teachers and staff at Valkstone Primary School, I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land that we gather on to learn, the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation. I would like to express my respect for and continuing commitment to the laws of Bunjil – respecting ourselves, others and the land. I would also like to pay my respects to all elders past and present.

Here at Valkstone, we gather in this special place as curious learners, to continue our learning journey together. I would like to express my appreciation to all of the Valkstone Community for being curious learners and for supporting each other to heal Country.
