Walk and Wheel Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, BPPS celebrates the amazing students who walk or wheel to school. A huge congratulations to those who wake up early for a good cause.
On the 2nd of November ’22, 5NK came first having 65% of the class walking or wheeling to school. 4CM came second with 60% and 4CB with 50%. On the 9th of November 4JT has been so close every week hopefully next week their efforts will be recognised with a win. On the 9th of November 5NK have had their third win in four weeks. They also beat BPPS 2023 personal best and scored 81.82% Congratulations! 4CM came second with a score of 74% and 6PT in third place with a score of 55%.
Now that we have entered Spring, the warmer weather will make walking or wheeling to school even more pleasant. As well as enjoying the nature around you, there are many other great benefits such as:
Remember, if you live further away from the school and have to drive, students can still participate by having their cars parked a few streets back and completing the journey on foot with their parents.
Every Wednesday, there is a walk and wheel email reminding classroom teachers to complete the walk and wheel data for their classroom. This week's poem was an acrostic poem written by Sienna in 6PT.
Make sure you wave to the crossing guards as you cross the road
The thought of walking to school may make you groan like a toad
But you still can ride your bike, zipping down the hill
Just make sure to wear your helmet, if you fall it won’t be much a thrill
Or maybe you’d rather scoot, scooters are very secure
The thought of holding the handlebars, flying down the pavement is very allure
Whatever you do, it doesn’t matter as long as you get to school while exercising, no matter how obscure
Sienna in 6PT
Well done Sienna! I can't wait to see how many people walk and wheel next week! Let’s see if a class can set a new BPPS record again next week!
