Reimagining Our School Uniform Update
As communicated previously, the school is working on changes to the school uniform. This will not happen overnight. Time is an important component of any change, and of course, this courtesy will be important to everyone as we eventually reach a change-over point. Should the need arise for purchasing uniforms for 2017/2018, we recommend you do so minimally.
An advisory group was established in July 2017, comprising of School Advisory Body and school leadership members. Consultative voices of our community; parents, students and staff will be important aspects of this process as we are further along with some initial groundwork.
Goal
A reimagined uniform that defines us as St Philomena’s School which transfers across the K-10 school, has slight variation to define primary vs secondary.
Investigate the option of our uniform shop being owned, supplied and managed by a school uniform company who specialise in manufacturing, supplying and operating school uniform shops.
Update 24.10.2017
The advisory group proposes that:
- A winter uniform is not a necessity for our Moree climate. An “all year round’ uniform can be supplemented by designated clothing articles for cooler days.
- Shirts are selected which are those designed to be worn out, reflecting our climatic conditions.
