Middle School Report  

Students in Year 9 and 10 are now coming towards the last few weeks of their school year, and semester exams and tests will be taken over the next few weeks.  It will be a busy few weeks, with lots of important events for Middle School students.

Year 9 Events

Following the great success of the City Experience this year, Year 9 students ran an expo of their work in Week 6 on Wednesday, 15 November. A number of parents and guardians attended the evening and the standard of the students’ presentations was fantastic.  It was great to see the outcomes of the week’s excursion and listen to the students describing what they had done over the course of the week.

The Better Man mentoring program run by Mr Simon Lynch and Mr Brendan McFarland has started, with a number of Year 9 students engaged in exercise and reflective practices sessions to improve communication, goal setting and engagement in learning.

Students are now preparing themselves for their semester tests in their core subjects, and we wish them all the best over the next week.

Semester Two Tests – Monday, 20 November to Friday, 24 November

Year 9 House Dance Competition – Tuesday, 12 December

Year 10 ‘Step Up Program’ – Wednesday, 13 December – Friday, 15 December

Last Day for Year 9 – Friday, 15 December

Year 9 to 10 Accreditation – Friday, 8 December

Year 10 Events

Year 10 students have been notified of their subjects for 2017 and informed of the arrangements for the VCE and VCAL orientation days over the next few weeks.  They are also preparing for the end of semester exams, and we wish them all the best in each of those exams.

The Year 10 Formal is also approaching and students are reminded to bring in permission forms and payments as soon as possible.  It is always an enjoyable night with games, dancing and a celebration of their time in Middle School.
