Softball

A stunning team effort across three games of softball in Geelong at the Western Metropolitan Regional finals has seen SASC reach the State Finals in Waverly next week for the second consecutive year.

Highlights of the day came from all players, but notable efforts came from Trinity (who taught Anna how to bunt successfully), Anna (who played as a power hitter, but caught the opposition napping with a couple of lead-off bunts), and Nicaila (with another in-the-park home run), and Joy and Leti (who both denied base-clearing hits by taking excellent catches). Every player contributed with bat and ball.

The girls played aggressive softball when batting by challenging their opponents with cheeky base running, and denying opposition runners opportunities to steal home.

State Finals will require them to play at their best for a minimum of three games on the day, but they have prepared well for this challenge.

One very proud coach (Di Phyland) and assistant/bus driver (Marion Mortimer) can't wait to see what the girls can produce in Waverly! Congratulations, girls.
