Principal's Report

Welcome Back

I hope everyone across our community had a safe and enjoyable break, and have found time to spend with their families. I have particularly enjoyed catching up with students about their holidays and their goals for this year.

In 2020, we are continuing to focus on improvement across the school in both academic and extra curricula areas. Inside and outside the classroom, we aim to create smaller communities within our larger school community where students feel connected and engaged. This is a reflection of our school vision:

‘As a collaborative community, we take on the challenge of creating a culture where ambition meets excellence. This is a culture where students develop academically, socially, and personally, to become the best versions of themselves, through a focus on teaching about effort, learning, and respect. In doing this, students will be actively engaged in their passions both inside and outside the classroom.’

At the end of 2019, we were particularly proud of our VCE results. There has been a consistent pattern of improvement in our VCE results over the past 5 years. I would like to pay tribute to our teachers who have been working hard at providing clear routines to drive student learning in class. I would also like to congratulate the dedication and resilience our students showed throughout the year. Finally I would like to thank all of our families who supported our senior students through what can be a stressful year.

Lockers

There has been a delay in the delivery of our lockers from our supplier. Lockers will now be distributed to students during the third week of school starting Monday, 10th February.

Child Safety

Our school focus on learning, effort and respect lived through our motto of try persevere achieve are underpinned by an understanding that Child Safety is a paramount responsibility of the school community. Staughton College has a number of guiding policies regarding Child Safety on our web site located at http://www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au/administration/.

Please take some time to make yourself aware of these and contact the school should you have any concerns regarding Child Safety.
