Next week, Staughton College will be hosting our first ever Music Week. Coinciding with World Music Day on June 21st, this celebration of music history, performance, culture and instruments will take place in Week 11, the last week of term. Check out some of the great events and activities on offer in the Multi at lunchtime…

Monday – Music Trivia Game

Bring your friends and test your knowledge of famous artists and bands, as well as a bit of music theory and instrument facts. There are prizes to be won!

Tuesday – African Drumming Workshop

Got rhythm? Melton Youth Services will be demonstrating some drumming skills and techniques. You’ll get the opportunity to try out some percussion you’ve probably never seen.

Wednesday – Student performances in the Courtyard

Let our VCE and Instrumental students serenade you with covers and originals during lunchtime.

Thursday – Mid-Year Music Concert (Multi 6-8pm)

As the sun sets, we’ll open the doors for a night of performance and celebration of Staughton music students. Come dressed for ‘Throwback Thursday’, a celebration of the 90s and 00s. Parents and friends welcome! Food provided and raffle tickets at the door.

Friday – Famous Musicians Scavenger Hunt

Bring your phones for an adventure around the school, finding facts and searching for clues about your favourite artists both new and old.

We’re excited about giving students opportunities to perform and participate in activities surrounding a love of music. Any money raised from these events will also contribute to the improvement of our Instrumental Music facilities and equipment.
