Year 10 Tutorial Incursions

Keys Please

On Wednesday 25th May, Year 10 students attended the Vic Roads ‘Keys Please’ incursion.  As many students in the year level are preparing to get their Learners permit, this presentation helped them to answer key questions such as ‘what are the rules for a Learner driver?’, ‘How many hours experience do you need before going for your P-plates?’ and ‘What does it mean to be a responsible driver?’.  During the session, three students participated in role play that highlighted some of the distractions drivers deal with every time they are on the road. Although it was funny for the observers, the participants expressed that they felt the pressure. At the conclusion of the session, all attendees received a free set of L-plates, while students who answered the pop quiz questions correctly also received a car, of the stress ball variety.

Exams

In preparation for the Year 10’s first formal exam period, Mr Gary Prasad and Mr Paul Graham offered some words of wisdom to the year 10’s. Mr Prasad used his Psychology background to give some handy studying tips and tricks. Meanwhile, Paul Graham offered strategies on how to deal with stress in the lead up to the exams. Both sessions have had a positive impact on the Year 10 cohort, with students undertaking their exams this week in a positive frame of mind.
