Building works will take place at the beginning of May 2019. Over the holiday period the garages and sheds will be demolished or relocated. The buses will be relocated next to the gym.

New Business:

-Jacob- (Upper Primary) has suggested a basketball ring for Concord Oval. Colin said that would be amazing and will organise this to occur. He would also like more eating tables outside. Colin said Upper Primary eat lunches inside so that would not be necessary. A suggestion for bring your Pet day was made. Colin said that could be a problem with bus travel. Jane suggested that staff could bring their pets. Colin was very excited about that suggestion with another student member commenting on the possibly of student allergies. Jacob asked how would dogs eat at school, Colin suggested that dogs don’t generally eat lunch. This will be considered at Leadership. One more suggestion for Dress Up days- Colin said this request can be taken to Leaders within each section for consideration.

-Jack F(Upper Primary) would like to us to consider recycling bins for plastic bottles, paper and cans. Colin said great project to access recycling bins from the Banyule Council. Possibly an environmental group could be organised. Jack would like more lunchtime clubs. This request can be directed  to Helen, Team Leader. Sec 7/8 would like healthier options in the canteen. Colin and Jane said that with the new café opening on completion of the building works there will be healthy home cooked food available for students, staff and families- something to look forward to. Students felt there should be a pedestrian crossing at the front and back of the school. Colin said unfortunately that the Banyule Council will not permit one at the front of the school due to student pedestrian numbers. There will be safer paths and access at the back of the school on completion of the building works.Students would like a Secondary 7/8 disco. This request can be taken directly to Helen, Team Leader.

-Lachie (Sec 7/8) would like to propose an out of uniform day to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. This was voted on and agreed to. Discussion occurred regarding date and this will occur last week of this term 2nd of April. Josh would like to do this at the end of each term, this will be considered. A suggestion for more sporting equipment to be available at break times. Team leaders will ensure that there is adequate equipment available in the future.

-Jaz from Sec 9/10 wanted to inform SRC that students did not want Sec 7/8 on Loyola. Leadership has decided that they will have access one lunchtime, Wednesday’s only. Students would like hot chocolate at the canteen. Jane and Colin said that for safety reasons and disposable cups not ideal we would have to wait for the new café.

-Gabriel (Upper Primary) wanted to get rid of the Gaga court. A vote of Upper Primary reps was held with No = 5, Yes = 6. The decision to keep the Gaga court was therefore carried. The Gaga court will remain but unavailable for a period of time during renovations and will be relocated later during the process. Student would like soccer and cricket facilities on Concord oval. Colin said Soccer is currently played and cricket can be played during cricket season. Another suggestion for an outside sensory space for students was made. Colin liked this idea and would take to Leadership. The students want better drink taps in Upper Primary. Colin agreed that the need new ones and will organise a chilled water tap.

-Trey (Upper Primary) would like Coke at school. Vote occurred No-16, Yes 12. There will be no coke available at school.

-Cody M (Upper Primary) would like more sausage sizzles to raise money for more sport equipment. Colin said that we have enough money for sport equipment and to let Chris N, Team Leader know if it needs replacing. Upper Primary students would like more lunch time activities- Speak with Chris N.

-Liam Sec 7/8 would like to be able to learn a language or sign language. Colin said amazing idea for celebrating diversity and Aboriginal culture could be explored further as part of our integrated units. Colin will discuss with Leadership.

-Lachie Sec 9/10 would like to suggest a mural for outside the Sec 7/8 Resource room. Colin and Jane loved that idea and said a student action team could be organised to support with then project.
