Teaching and Learning in 4M

The students in 4M returned back to school with a positive attitude for the last term of 2022! There has been lots of learning happening within room 25. The students have been looking at persuasive writing and as a reward for their hard work in their Cold Writes, 4M were lucky enough to have a visit from Miss M’s dog Louie.

For reading, students have been looking at the reading strategy Author’s Purpose. They explored the different purposes of reading (persuade, inform and entertain) and what language is used.

In maths, students have looked at the SQ3R strategy to help them understand and work out worded problems. It was wonderful to see all students explain their thinking and discuss the different strategies that could be used. We have also been looking at how to read and interpret different maps. 

4M has also been working hard on their handwriting in hope of receiving their pen licence. It is amazing to see the improvement in the work presentation in just a few short weeks. 

Overall, it has been a wonderful start to Term 4 and the students are looking forward to more fun and learning!
