Footy Colours Day

FOOTY COLOURS DAY - LAST DAY OF TERM (Friday 16 September)

• Come dressed in your favourite sports team’s colours (any sport!)

• Bring along coins to “kick goals” for your favourite team!

• The team with the most coins will win the Buninyong PS Cup!

• All donations supporting Mphatso Children’s Foundation 

Students are invited to come dressed in their favourite team colours on the last day of term. This will be part of an epic fundraiser on the day, raising funds to support the Mphatso Children’s Foundation. We have been supporting Mphatso for many years, and they do great work feeding and educating kids in Malawi. 

Which Team Will Win The Buninyong Cup?

We will finally be able to answer the question that is on everyone’s lips… which team will win and have the glory of being named the most popular AFL club at Buninyong PS? 

Collect As Many 5c Coins (Or Any Coins!) As You Can To Bring Along On Friday.

Bring along a donation on the day! We encourage students to collect as many 5c coins as they can, as 5c coins have become synonymous with Mphatso. This is how much it costs to provide a bowl of porridge to a student each day at school. For many of the children, this is the only food they will have for the day. 

Students may bring along as many coins as they wish, and coins can be of any denomination. 

Which Team Will Win the BUNINYONG CUP?

You will have the opportunity to “kick goals” for your favourite team by putting your coins in their container. The more coins you have - the more goals for your team!

The team’s container at the end of the day with the MOST coins (in volume – not value) will be the winner!

For those who don’t follow the AFL… don’t worry! We will have a jar for you to add to. Will that be the ultimate upset, with all AFL teams being beaten for the Buninyong Cup by other sports? 

All donations will then be forwarded to the Mphatso Children’s Foundation on behalf of our school. 

As many of you may know, we have had an ongoing relationship with Mphatso Children’s Foundation in Malawi for many years. A former parent of Buninyong PS, Robyn Casey, established the Mphatso Children’s Foundation back in 2004. Their mission is to FEED THE CHILDREN, GROW THE COMMUNITY & IMPACT THE FUTURE.
