School Uniform & Hats

Please take the opportunity over the holiday break to audit and top up uniform supplies in preparation for the warmer weather that's hopefully on its way for term four.

All uniform items must comply with our school uniform guidelines.

In particular:

  • Shorts being plain black (no logos) and of an appropriate length for school (no exercise / bike shorts / running shorts)
  • Black shoes (runners, school shoes or boots)
  • Socks plain black or white only
  • School hats (broad or bucket) only
  • Please make sure all pieces of uniform are clearly named. Named items will be returned to students when found.

This includes school hats, as they are again compulsory and must be worn by all students in term four, in line with our sunsmart policy.

Please take the time during the holidays to dig out your child’s hat, make sure it is named and pop it in their bag for the first day back to school.

Remember: No hat – No outside play!

Our uniform shop is fully stocked for over the counter and online sales. You can order and pay via QKR and your child can collect from the school office. If you call through to the office, delivery to their classroom can also be arranged.

Your help in ensuring that all students are in correct uniform is appreciated. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any further questions.

There is assistance available for families if needed to assist in purchasing school items, including uniform, through the Ballarat Foundation’s Voucher Program. Please contact Narelle Sullivan (narelle.sullivan@education.vic.gov.au) or the school office to access these vouchers. All correspondence remains strictly confidential.

Asthma

During grass pollen season between October and December, there is an increased risk of seasonal asthma, hay fever and epidemic thunderstorm asthma.

Thunderstorm asthma is asthma that is triggered by a particular type of thunderstorm when there are high amounts of grass pollen in the air. It can result in people wheezing, feeling short of breath, and tight in the chest with coughing. This can be sudden, serious, and even life threatening. Those at risk of thunderstorm asthma are those who have asthma (or have had asthma in the past, or undiagnosed asthma) and/or have hay fever.

If your child has been diagnosed with asthma it is important that you have your child’s asthma plan updated annually and provide a copy to the school office. Please also provide a supply of Ventolin or other asthma reliever and spacer to the school office. These will be stored at the office so they can be easily accessed should your child require it throughout the day.

Should you have any questions, please contact the office.
