K.I.O.S.C

Students in Year 10 Science of Medicines, synthesised aspirin in their classes before the school holidays as part of the Drug Development unit.  The next unit students are undertaking in Science of Medicines is Analytical Chemistry, where they use various techniques to determine the presence and concentration of chemicals in various mixtures.  As part of this unit, students took their aspirin samples to KIOSC to determine the presence of aspirin, as well as the concentration and the presence of any other contaminants.
