From the Classroom-  M2 (Rebecca)

Last week Miners Rest Primary School K-6 held their mini fete. M2 spent the week preparing for our ‘Mystery Jars’ classroom stall. We wrote expositions directed at encouraging families to come to our stall. One student wrote “$2 a jar, that amazing offer on a jar from M2 is a miracle!” another student stated “You should come to M2’s mystery jar stall because you might miss out on something awesome! Choose wisely.”

As part of our exposition writing, we researched what makes a convincing advertisement. We watched some food commercials and discussed how brands sell their products. We noticed most of the ads had bright colours, slogans, and catchy songs. This inspired the designs of our posters that were displayed at our stall.

We worked together to wrap our jars and then displayed them on our table for the Fete. Students were excited to run the stall and a few of our  students were in charge of ensuring the jars were sold at the correct price and the correct change was given where needed. Our stall sold out of jars within the first hour and we raised a total of $82.00!
