Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

Once again, we have experienced a wonderful start to the new school year.

I visited all classes on Monday, to give them my good wishes for 2023, and was thrilled to see the children happily and enthusiastically engaged in their varied activities.

I must mention that I am very impressed by our Year 6s and the way in which they are already actioning their leadership skills, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and also showing care and kindness towards our younger students.

Our Year 6 school captains, Aliyah, Liam, Rozi and Sebastian are also this year’s Faith in Action Leaders and will be working closely with me to initiate and support several special projects and activities.

While we are first and foremost a Catholic School we value that our community is made up of families from both similar and varying backgrounds, beliefs and experiences.

At St Francis Xavier, we strive to work together with all our families in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation with the children’s wellbeing, safety and learning as our focus.

Every class begins and ends the day with a prayer. Some have created their own but we also have a St Francis Xavier School Prayer which is displayed in every classroom and is also shared during assemblies.

We are particularly excited this year as many of the restrictions, which had been previously imposed on our usual practice, have now well and truly been lifted.  We look forward to welcoming you more frequently into the school for a range of events and experiences.

Warmest wishes and God's blessings,
