Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone!

Congratulations to our Year 6 students!

What a pleasure it was to attend our Year 6 graduation Wednesday night. The evening was hosted by our School Captains Nicholas and Olive, and our Vice Captains Scarlet and Tobi. They all did an exceptional job introducing guests, their classmates and generally keeping the evening running smoothly. I was impressed with the heartfelt speeches from our students and the affection they have for their school. It was also wonderful to see the many community members who continue to support our school by offering awards, groups such as Rotary, Empowering Eaglehawk Incorporation and our own Violetarians.

I would like to say a very BIG thank you to Jacinta Condon for the way she has supported our year 6 students over 2022, helped them to be ready for graduation night and for the excellent organisation of the evening. Of course, making it to year 6 has required the support from family, friends, many teachers and support staff over all their primary school years.

Some of our students were presented with awards on the night, congratulations to-

School Concert.

We are all looking forward to our school concert being held next Tuesday at 12pm. Make sure you have read the information in the newsletter so your children come to school dressed in their concert 'outfit'. The concert will be outside so audience members should dress appropriately and wear a hat and sunscreen. Ms. Finch and the students have been rehearsing, creating props and rehearsing some more! Teachers have also been doing additional practising of songs in their classrooms to help our students be ready. I am very excited!!

School finishes at 1:30pm, which should fit with the end of the concert. If we appear to be hurrying you along at 1:30pm it is only because the staff have an end of year booking for lunch and if we don't make it in time the kitchen will be closed!

Farewells.

Last day of term, Tuesday 20th December, is also the last day at Violet St PS for Sharon Frappell (Business Manager), Roy Rayner (School crossing supervisor and helps us to keep the school looking 'ship shape'), Yuling Wu (Chinese language teacher), Tracey Burton (Grade 1/2B teacher) and Hannah Douglas (Grade 1/2 D teacher). You and your children might like to find a small way to thank them for their work at our school, perhaps make a card together to give them or draw a special picture or simply make time to come and say 'Thank you' to each of them.

2023 Stationery Pack collection.

A reminder to have your order placed by 1st January for the pack to be delivered to school by 24th January.

Packs can be collected from school on Tuesday 24th January between 12pm -2pm OR packs can be left at school for your child's teacher to take to their classroom and label for you. If you collect the pack for your child/ren you must label each item and make sure your child/ren bring their packs to school with them on Monday 30th January.

Thank you all for your support over this year, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you to the parents and carers who have been helping in the garden and listening to reading in the classrooms, your assistance makes a difference.

I am already looking forward to 2023 and all that we will enjoy, learn and achieve.

As this is our last newsletter for the year I wish you all a safe summer holidays with time to do the things you love to do and time spent with people you enjoy spending time with.

See you all again on Monday 30th January when all our students start school for the 2023 school year.

Warmest regards,

Carolyn.
