Mullauna Music

November 2022

2022 - That's nearly a Wrap!

As I put this report together, I am reminded that we are heading into our 2023 Head Start Program. This means that Concert Band has already moved up into Monday afternoon music including Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble and Stage Band rehearsals. Guitar Ensemble and the Rock Band are also still powering through new music. We are also preparing for Presentation Night on Wednesday 14 December and our year 7 Recruitment Concert which is held in February 2023. Students involved in this event can find the details on Compass events as rehearsals are still on for the next two weeks  This would also include our Year 11 students who have finished up earlier.

Our Christmas tree is up in the Music Centre and Christmas music is heard from the classroom and from Instrumental Music classrooms.

Thank you everyone, students for your diligence and consistent commitment and families for your support throughout the year.  What a great year it has been with all performances on again. Well done everyone for managing Covid and other health issues throughout the year - no more lockdowns but still a tricky year for everyone.

All of our Instrumental music students in year 7, 8 and 9 have completed their Instrumental music exams and we would like to congratulate everyone on their outstanding preparation. The marking sheet has been given to all the students and the certificate will be coming home during the Head Start Program week.

We would like to thank Ms Kelsy De Prada for her work with our flute students over the last two years. Sadly, she is moving on to an extra day in one of her other schools in 2023 however, Sally Newstead is excited to be teaching flute classes again.

Good luck to our amazing Year 12s. We look forward to hearing about where you will head next and we hope you keep the music in your life.

Enjoy the year book everyone and enjoy your Christmas Holiday.  See you all next year!
