Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams
Library Lovers Day is the same day as Valentines Day and our Kinder and Stage 1 celebrated love and our library on Wednesday by reading books about love and books.
Library Days
Wednesday - Kinder and Stage 1
Thursday - Stage 2 and Stage 3
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL CHILDREN HAVE A LIBRARY BAG TO PROTECT THE BOOKS. ALL BOOKS NEED TO BE RETURNED EACH WEEK SO THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO BORROW A NEW ONE!
This term in Stages 2 and 3 we have been talking about genres. A Genre is a category of literature and if children know the genre they like then it makes it easier for them to find a book they enjoy eg humour, fantasy, adventure, history, graphic novels, crime etc. Children are being taught how to search for books by genres in SORA our EBook platform and OLIVER our library borrowing system.
There are books for everyone - our job here in the library is to find the book which they love to read!
Stage 1 will be looking at Australian authors while Kinder are learning the routine of the library and enjoying beautiful books.
The library is open Wednesday and Thursday at lunchtime. Not only can children read books, they can do lots of different activities like jigsaw puzzles, colour in, play Uno and solve the Rubic's cube puzzle.
Kinder are getting into the routine of returning and borrowing books. They are loving their time in the library.
Happy Reading everyone!
