Celebrations

This past week has been a joyful reflection on a successful year of learning and fun.  Most importantly, our children have made memories that they will treasure for a long time to come.  Sometimes, students reflect on events like camps and excursions more than specific moments of learning, as their learning tends to happen in much more incremental ways than the big, full-body moments they might experience during a camp.   It was such a pleasure to hear from our students at our Awards Ceremonies this week.   They reflected about their favourite moments from this year which included the 'big stuff', but also some very thoughtful reflections about the really important 'little stuff' in their learning.  Below are a few reflections the students shared.

Year 11 has a lot to offer, with many different aspects to look forward to both in and out the classroom. There’s a huge change in the relationship between the students and the teachers and another great thing about Year 11 is that you really get to show some independence and start embarking on your desired pathway. With any pathway that you take, you start blending with people who share your interests, which is great in starting new relationships.  -Alessandro Genovese, Year Eleven

My favourite thing from Year One was making playgrounds for our inquiry. First, we designed our playground with things that kids like to play on. Then we made small models of our playground using different materials. Mine had a spider swing on it.   - Harriet Stan-Bishop, Year One

The highlight was making candles during Science. We were learning about different states of matter, but we also got to take the candles home as gifts.  - Oliver McCutcheon, Year Three

Reports

Reports for students will be released early next week.  Keep an eye on your SEQTA notifications and emails which will confirm their release.

Back to school for 2023

Whilst it is hard to imagine, the new year is just around the corner and we have been busy planning to make 2023, our 25th year, a brilliant one.  The start of the school year is a busy time with lots to remember and information is key to being well prepared. To this end, a 'Back to School' email will be sent in mid-January to give you all the details you need to ensure a smooth start to the year for your child.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, our Reception is open until 21 December 2022 and will reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2023.  Reception can be contacted on 9844 0300.
