Ashbourne Landcare

Yesterday CU3 students were invited by Ashbourne Landcare to assist in planting trees along Jocks Gully, a tributary of the Campaspe River. Students spent a wonderful afternoon learning about our natural resources, the different types of soil and the importance of having shrubs and native grasses along the tributary. Students worked in teams to plant out an area at a time. The team work and camaraderie amongst students and Landcare workers was a delight to see. While the hope of the Landcare members was that we might plant 250 trees, the pace and enthusiasm with which the students worked meant we got all 600 trees planted with time to spare! Many thanks to the Landcare members and helpers who patiently shared their skills with CU3 and to the students who wowed us with their enthusiasm, work ethic, positive attitude, team work and exemplary behaviour!

Carlsruhe Rotation

Tomorrow is swap day for our first rotation out at Carlsruhe! CU1 and CU3 students are asked to please bring in a sturdy bag to put their belongings from their locker in so we can make the swap of campuses as smooth as possible.

Also, a reminder for CU3 students and parents that they need to be at school at 8:45 each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from Monday onwards to catch the bus out to Carlsruhe. Students will catch the bus back to Woodend and be dismissed from there at the end of each day.

Guinea Pig & Chicken Duty

Thank you to those CU2 and CU3 families who have contacted Gayle Sutton or Zoe Hall about the dates you are unavailable to have guinea pigs or be on chicken duty. Please make sure you let us know of any unavailability by tomorrow (Friday 13th May). If we don’t hear from you, we assume you are able to have guinea pigs and chickens any given weekend or during the next school holidays.
