Foundation Unit

News..

We have had a busy couple of weeks here in the Foundation grades!

Mothers’ Day

We had a lot of fun designing and completing special artwork for our mums and creating cards using our fingerprints.

We used tissue paper to create a beautiful coloured background and then we drew a picture of ourselves and our mums in black texta. We also wrote ‘I Love My Mum’ using our best handwriting. Finally, we decorated a teapot poem and put them with a little present for our mums.

We hope all the mums enjoyed their special presents and had a lovely Mothers’ Day!

Autumn activities

This week, we have taken advantage of all the beautiful autumn leaves in our school grounds. We read a book called ‘Leaf Man’ which only used leaves for the illustrations and decided to create our own ‘leaf creatures’. We collected leaves of all colours and shapes and designed a wide range of animals such as turtles, dogs and horses (to name a few!). Some students even made people using leaves.

This was a fun activity and everyone enjoyed being able to use leaves to create their own artworks.
