A Message from Megan

As I continue as Acting Principal for Term Two I am delighted to be able to share some of the amazing achievements of our school community growing together.

Ngoongodgin Thank you

Thank you to all our parents/carers and community who have been understanding and supporting our school during the increased illness that has made this term challenging.

Thank you for picking up your child from school or not bringing them to school with symptoms and for the notifications to our front office, we appreciate this puts pressure on families and we are grateful.

Thank you to Emma and the staff for your work covering classes and supporting casual relief teachers (CRTs).  We are lucky to have some regular people who come to teach our classes, Josh, Alex, Jacqui, Kirsten and Chelsea.

Thank you to our Education Support staff who run our sick bay for taking care of all the students who come needing some care and attention.

I have been checking in with students, teachers and parents/carers to ensure that I am looking after everyone during these winter months.   We recently also received more air purifiers for all areas of our school including staff rooms, library, music and art rooms.

Enrolments 2023

We are currently running school tours and taking enrolments for our 2023 Foundation classes.  If you have a younger child who is going to start at TPS or know of a local community enrolment please ensure you complete these and give to the front office as we have begun the acceptance process for our classes.   We are very excited about a new group of students and families joining our TPS community in 2023.

School Review  - Staff, Student and Community Voice

We are in the Pre Review Self Evaluation phase of our School Review.   It is a celebration of all of the school's achievements over the last four years from 2018 - 2022.   I have been working with School Council, school leaders, staff, students and community in forums to collate all our highlights and achievements.  These include School Wide Positive Behaviours, Stop Walk Talk, Instructional model for Writing and Peer Observations.

On our student free day staff dug into our data to see if we have achieved our four year targets and discussed what were the enablers and barriers to achieving these school goals.

Our next phase of the school review will take place in Term Three with our reviewer, David Mann and a panel of challenge partners.   Community will again be invited to come and talk to the review panel about their reflections and ideas for the school.

Student Action

We are so proud of Luke, Luna, Nei Nei, Charlotte, Naia, and Poppy who have recently been organising, planning and implementing fundraising for charities as a group of students.   They arranged a stall at our Caregivers BBQ and our Election Day BBQ raising over $400.00 for their chosen charities.   We are so proud and excited for the next idea!

Drama Lunch Club

The highlight of my week is taking over Drama club from Stephanie.  It was very daunting taking over the lunch club from such a successful director!   Students in the club are from years 3-6 and Multi age and truly demonstrate our school Deadly Value of working together.   During our lunch time we learn drama skills, improvisation and performance. The pictures above are creating a group "Machine" with moving parts and sound.
