What: ACU ‘Talk With’ series

Who: Open to any student, especially Year 10 to 12, interested in obtaining more information about the campuses, courses and opportunities available at ACU. A great opportunity to hear from current students, staff and graduates.

When: April 2022 will cover Teaching (5), Business and IT (7) and Law (6) with others in the Health and services sector scheduled for September and October. There are also some previous recordings available.

Free to enter, teams of 1-4, must have parent permission and be registered by school staff member – speak to Mr Drew Thomas or Mrs Elly Martin if interested.

Facilitating engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, students learn vital skills for the future through designing, building and testing an original video game. This is not tied to any particular programming language and in 2022 the theme is NETWORKS.

What: Monash MySci 2022 

Who: Year 11 and 12 students interested in Science careers and Monash offerings.

When: 28-30 June, Monash Clayton, Science Precinct

What: Monash Virtual VCE Revision Sessions 2022 

Who: Year 11 and 12 students studying Unit 3&4 Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology and Software Development, as well as Further, Methods and Specialist Mathematics.

When: Sessions occur across the year based on topics covered in Unit 3&4 study and the final session is an Exam Revision session in Oct/Nov.

More info: Monash Virtual VCE Revision Sessions are offering a series of free, interactive revision classes, delivered over Zoom, focused on supporting girls studying VCE Units 3 and 4 in STEM studies (but all are welcome). For each subject there will be six sessions over the course of a year, each focusing on a different area of the curriculum. Students are able to register for any or all sessions for subjects they are currently undertaking.

 

What: Photography Studies College (PSC) Student Workshops

Who: Year 11 to 12 are invited to this special "hands-on" event for students interested in studying a creative course or considering a creative career in photography. Students can experience what it's like to be a student at PSC before they start.

What: The Trades Fit – Young Women in Trades and Tech

Who: Targeted at young women in Years 9-10, the expo demonstrates the exciting world of trade and tech industries and the rewarding, and well-paid career opportunities they can provide.

When: 16-17 May, Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

More info: Students will hear from trade and tech representatives from fields including building and construction, electrical engineering, plumbing, automotive, transport and logistics, mining, agriculture and horticulture, aviation, marine, and many more.

Students will be able to engage with these career pathways through hands-on experiences, tech displays, information sessions, panel discussions, and guest speakers.

What: University of Melbourne – Girl Power in Engineering and IT

Who: Open to Year 9 female students interested in exploring careers connected with engineering, IT and STEM more broadly.

When: This is a four year program which commences in Year 9 and involves a highly engaging camp during the July school break.

Who: Open to students interested in exploring accommodation options to support studying at The University of Melbourne.

When and More info: Are you thinking about attending the University of Melbourne? Then we want to meet you. The Uni Melb Colleges are holding open houses on 21 May from 12pm-4pm. Hear from current students, meet the academic and pastoral care staff, learn more about our scholarship programs and discover the best of residential college clubs, societies, events and leadership opportunities. Lunch/refreshments will be served at each College.

Tour up to four (4) Colleges. Tours will run on the hour and will last 30-45 minutes, allowing you some travel time before the next College tour commences. And if you want to see more than four Colleges – just contact them directly to organise a tour.

Who: Open to all young people, The Youth Futures Summit is a virtual event that brings together thousands of diverse people across multiple sectors and communities to re-imagine the biggest challenges and systems impacting young people and the rest of Australia.
