Principal's Report

Well what a term! A whirlwind some might say. Thank you to staff and students for approaching this term with such enthusiasm and a commitment to get on with things, despite the challenges we have faced as part of the pandemic. Staff have juggled their families' experiences with COVID and their own experience of it, whether they were sick or in isolation. They have also managed the various student absences due to COVID, which has included the rescheduling of tasks, the re-writing of tests, changing timelines, alternative venues, supporting colleagues, taking on extra duties; the list goes on. All of that, while still delivering a quality curriculum. We say thanks!!
Excitement is growing with our Kildare Campus, we can certainly see the construction starting to take shape. While that is happening we are also investigating the furniture and equipment that will be needed on the Campus. Not only will everything be new but there will also be some different things, maybe even a point of discussion, but more on that throughout the year.
As we enter in to the final week of term and head toward Holy Week we are reminded of the importance of Easter in our Catholic calendar. Easter is an opportunity for renewal, a reset and an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to positively take on the challenges of life. The resurrection is a celebration of our relationship with God; We are Easter people carried forward through the challenges of our life. I wish all families in our community a safe and restful Easter.
We begin Term 2 with Anzac Day, the day we commemorate the service men and women not just of an era gone by, but also of a contemporary time. We remember lives lost to war and conflict, we think of families and friends who returned wounded; with wounds that never truly heal. But, we also think of the sacrifices that individuals and groups make for others during difficult times. The pandemic is testament to this self sacrifice, whether it be the medical fraternity, our cleaners, our supermarket workers or those in education, we remember the selfless acts that have allowed for a future where care and compassion are at the forefront, a future where we turn away from war and we turn to each other with love; an unconditional love and hope for humanity.
“I know the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare, plans to give you a future with hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
God Bless.
