Lids4Kids

In 2020 our Technology Department built six lid receptacles to collect used plastic lids at our school.

Then COVID hit and we had to stockpile our lids for over 18 months.

This week we finally had the opportunity to package up an unbelievable 60kgs of lids, collected from our College community since the receptacles were built. (Imagine how many we would have collected if we had been on site the whole time?!)

Our lid collection is now off to Lids4Kids Australia!

Lids4Kids Australia is a national volunteer organisation that rescues used plastic lids from going into landfill and provides them to community groups and small businesses, who in turn, make them into meaningful recycled products.

We hope our students will continue with their conscientious efforts to work toward a more sustainable world!
