Our school community has been invited to attend the Chrism Mass at Saints Mary & Joseph’s Cathedral, Armidale, on Tuesday 12th April, beginning at 11am. As this Mass is in the first week of the school holidays it will be up to families if they would like to attend and if so make their own arrangements. At the conclusion of Mass a finger food lunch will be available at the Torreggiani Courtyard. For catering purposes please provide a RSVP to the Parish Office 6772 2218 if you would like to attend.
We are encouraged during Lent to give greater attention to those who might be in need. One way we are able to do this is by supporting Project Compassion over the forty days of Lent by making monetary contributions (big or small) to these boxes.
Please return your Project Compassion Boxes to school during the first week of next term.

Easter is a great reminder that Christ died and rose once and for all and for each one of us. His death and resurrection can transform our lives as we endeavour to live lives that know the freedom of goodness – lives that have love for our neighbour, lives that respect all creation, lives that restore hope and mercy.
This Sunday, is Passion or Palm Sunday. It marks the end of the season of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. Holy Week is precious because it is time that is set apart for us to focus on how we are spiritually renewed. It is holy time to spend with Jesus, to unclutter our mind, lay down our burdens and renew our faith in Jesus.
Holy Thursday is on the 14th April and is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and crucifixion. The Last Supper was the final meal Jesus shared with his Disciples in Jerusalem. He broke bread and drank wine, as we do in Mass and washed the Disciples feet.
Good Friday is on the 15th April. It is the day Jesus Christ was crucified; nailed to a Cross and died. He was flogged, tormented, ridiculed and crowned with thorns. He carried his cross to Calvary, was then nailed to the cross and crucified. The events that led to Jesus’ Crucifixion are known in the Stations of the Cross. Following the incredible events of the day, the body of Christ was removed from the cross and laid in a donated tomb, buried according to custom.
Easter Sunday is on the 17th April. Easter Sunday is the completion of the Holy week that ends with the resurrection of Jesus. Easter celebrates the beginning and foundation of Christianity. Jesus was raised from the dead, and it goes to show that He conquered sin and death.
Gracious God,
You have heard the cries of your people.
You have sent Jesus to us to be our redeemer.
Open our eyes to see the immensity of your love for us and the wonder of what you have done for us.
Give us the courage to be your hands and heart for those who need us.
Give us the wisdom to speak out for justice and righteousness.
May your will be done in us today and always.
Amen
