I would like to wish everyone a very happy Easter and a safe and restful holiday. It has been a great term. The staff have worked hard at establishing strong routines for learning and behaviour and our students have respond positively. I truly hope that everyone can return healthy and well in Term 2 to continue the good work that we have all started.
Thank you to our families for your support in Term 1. See you allback at school on April 26th.
We have minimised the number of events this week due to the impact on Covid 19 on our school. We have a number of students away and a number of staff members. We hope by limiting the activities we can help stop the spread. We are continuing with regular cleaning, ventilation and sanitising.
Due to the increase of COVID cases at school & in the community we have postponed the P & F BBQ until early Term 2.
The Easter raffle was drawn on Thursday at school with the children. All money raised is going to CARITAS. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone for the Easter Raffle donations & purchasing the tickets. We had 27 prizes! Congratulations to the winners. The Easter Raffles made a total of $770.00 Thank you.
Thank you to all our families who are making a concerted effort to explain their children's absences. It is a legal requirement that parents notify the school within 7 days of a child's absence regarding the nature of the absence. If you have not explained any absences this term please attend to this before the end of the week so our records can be accurate.

Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will take part in this year’s National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) on the following dates:
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is held in May each year for Year 3 and Year 5 students. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy. The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals and can be used to improve student achievement.
If your child is planning to do any preparation for this upcoming assessment and/or you are interested in seeing what the format of the various NAPLAN Assessments may look like. There are various websites that allow all Years 3 and 5 students to practise for the upcoming Online NAPLAN Assessments beginning in May. A really good site is the ACARA website (address listed below).

This is not the whole assessment but it gives you an idea on what certain types of tasks our Year 3 and 5 students could be asked to do.
