East Gippsland United Football Club

East Gippsland United Football Club is pleased to be offer our inaugural season of the East Gippsland Soccer League. We invite your school community members to join our football family for an initial 8 week season to be hosted completely at Howitt Park in Bairnsdale.

The competition will consist of 6 teams in 2 age groups. These teams will be loosely arranged around school attendance so friends can play with friends however we reserve the right to merge players from smaller school registrations. Age groups will be 8-10 years and 11-13 years. The age is determined by the age of the player at 31 December 2022. The season will start 30 April with the last weekend the 18th June for the 8-10 years olds and the week later for the 11-13 years.

The club will provide skills coaching on Wednesday nights from 5pm and the games will be played Saturday mornings. The rules are based on the GO Sevens program so no offside rules apply, this will ensure the players learn the skills of the game in a fun environment.

The registration link is https://www.gofootball.com.au/play/pick-your-location/East-Gippsland-United-FC. This is the same program we use for Summer 7s so if your player registered for last years games you can use the same log in.  If you are eligible you can be reimbursed for the active kids  https://www.getactive.vic.gov.au/vouchers/apply-for-vouchers/. Unfortunately, we can’t offer the voucher redemption process on these registrations as the money goes directly to Football Victoria so we ask that you apply for the reimbursement.

Once we have all the registrations, we can advise families of the draw details. We encourage families to be involved in the club and assist with volunteer positions where they can.

If you have any questions, please contact Dean Bailey on 0406 031 611 or deanbailey9@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you on the field.

Volunteer mentors needed

The Gippsland Engaged Mentoring (GEM) program is calling for volunteer mentors to help support young people in the East Gippsland region including Bairnsdale, Swifts Creek, Lakes Entrance and Orbost.

Now, more than ever, we are seeing a steep decline in school and community engagement among our young people, as well as heightened levels of stress and anxiety. As a mentor, your role will be to provide friendship, support and conversation to a young person in the region, for one hour per week.

To help reach out to these young people in need, we will be running a Mentor Training workshop consisting of 2 mandatory sessions over two weeks commencing 20th May.

To enquire or to join our next training sessions contact gemprogram@workways.com.au or visit our website http://www.workways.com.au/.../gippsland-engaged...
