Term 2 has been busy and very productive in the career pathways office. I have greatly enjoyed meeting the Year 10 students and their parents/guardians to discuss the results of their Morrisby Profile and begin the VCE subject selection process.
All students in Year 10 and their families should have received a meeting request (via email) by now, so if you have not, please contact me. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify me at your earliest convenience so that we can arrange an alternate time.
Work experience opportunity:
Monash University offers one round of work experience each year in their Biomedicine Discovery Institute. If you are a student who is interested in a future career in the science of health and disease and you will be over the age of 15 in September, you are welcome to apply for this opportunity. The week of work experience is from Monday 19th September until Friday 23rd of September, and the application form can be found here. The form needs to be returned to me by the beginning of August and I will make the application on the students’ behalf.
Upcoming events:
Universities continue to offer a range of onsite and online activities including campus tours and course information sessions. Please see the details below regarding dates and how to register for these events. Even if you have missed a session of interest, you should still be able to register to receive the recording if the event was held online. As always, I highly recommend students in years 10-12 use these events to assist with their planning and decision making.

As you can see, August is incredibly busy for open days, so I advise that if you are a student in Year 10 or 11, you start early and attend some of the universities and campuses that may be of interest, so that you don’t run out of time trying to attend them all in Year 12!
