Saver Plus
Congratulations on kicking off another school year! I’m sure it’s a very busy time, but I wanted to personally invite you to a new competition we are launching as part of Saver Plus’ annual Back To School campaign. By participating in the Schools 4 Saver Plus competition, your school could win a $2000 gift voucher for school supplies.
Saver Plus is a free financial education and matched savings program offered to lower-income families to help them budget and save for education costs. In the 10-month program, participants gain financial knowledge, learn healthy savings habits by saving $50 a month, and have their savings matched up to $500 to be used towards school costs such as uniforms, books, laptops, and sports fees.
It’s a wonderful community program that has helped over 50K Australians save $26 million since 2003, on top of that ANZ has also provided $21 million in matching for spending on education costs. I’m actively enrolling new parents into the program and would appreciate your help in sharing Saver Plus with your parent community by participating in the competition.
Entering is easy, simply help us share the Saver Plus program with your parent community by completing the activities below. Each activity your school completes will earn points. Once your school reaches 300 points, your school will go in the draw to win one of three gift vouchers worth $2000!
How does my school earn points? I will provide all the necessary materials
· Post Saver Plus to your school’s Facebook page = 20 points each post
· Include Saver Plus in your school newsletter to parents = 20 points each share
· Co-host a Zoom info session and I’ll present the program to parents = 50 points each session
· Submit a testimonial quote about how Saver Plus has helped your school community = 50 points
· A parent from your school joins Saver Plus = 100 points per parent
The competition starts 1 Feb and ends 30 April. Once your school earns 300 points, your school will go in the draw!

Moonlit Sanctuary
If you’re not familiar with us, Moonlit Sanctuary is a Wildlife Conservation Park located in nearby Pearcedale. It is a place where people can experience the rare and unusual animals that call Australia home. We are committed to raising awareness and educating people about these wonderful creatures and the need for their conservation.
One of the educational programs we offer is our Keeper Club School Holiday Program. This is run by our Education Officers and offers children hands on experience with environmental activities, animal encounters and native animal care. They learn about our animals, their conservation and the environment, all with a focus on fun!
We operate without government support and are entirely dependent on funds raised to support our work. The income from our holiday program, and visits to the Sanctuary in general help support our conservation, breeding and education programs. Thanking you for your help.
Marine
Marine Mammal Foundation – School Holiday Activities
Dolphin Detectives is a new unique school holiday program. Come along and learn all about Dolphins and marine conservation!
The Marine Mammal Foundation is excited to announce our new school holiday program for young people to discover what being a Dolphin Researcher is all about, and become a Dolphin Detective! This amazing new program will consist of engaging educational content about Port Phillip Bay’s critically endangered Burrunan dolphin and all things marine conservation, along with a fun hands-on activity exploring Burrunan Dolphin Biology. Using MMF’s real Burrunan Dolphin catalog to explore sighting data, participants will use MMF’s fin-ID methodology to identify individual Burrunan Dolphins, discover who they are, and what we can do to help conserve them!
This program is a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers and get involved in fun hands-on science activities. Come along these April school holidays to meet MMF’s experienced educators, and become a Dolphin Detective!

Easter Egg Butterflies
On behalf of the House Spirit Team I would like to thank everyone who donated Easter eggs to our Butterfly Project.
With your donations we were able to create over 250 butterflies and all students in the school had a hand in creating something special for someone who needs it.
These Easter Butterflies were collected and will be delivered to the Frankston Hospital Chemotherapy ward ready to put smiles on patients faces.
Due to your generous donations we have a surplus of Eggs. The House Spirit team would like to use these extra eggs to “Guess the Eggs in the Jar” fundraiser. There will be multiple jars of different sizes. Students will be able to guess the eggs with a 20c donation per jar and the closest without going over will win the jar. This will begin at school next week.
The House Spirit Team will use the proceeds to donate to Project Compassion.
Thank you again for your support.
