Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,

This week we have had a major school improvement with the artificial turf being laid at the front of the school and what an amazing transformation it has made. Many of the students are using it as a place to sit down or play different games. I don't think too many parents will miss the dustbowl it has replaced.

On Monday we had our annual Audit Day  which is always nice to have out of the way as it does keep the office staff very busy ensuring we are fully compliant financially and following expected systems. As has always been our case this was not a problem. We held an Open Morning on Monday with 6 new families touring our facilities.  Tomorrow I will take a tour for another 3 new families. Currently, including expected siblings, we have 26 enrolments for 2023 so this is very exciting.

On Tuesday our Foundation classes went to the Zoo with Miss Eagling and Mrs Winduss. I have been told this is already a part of their classroom learning and I'm sure the students will maintain very happy memories of their day.

Tomorrow's coffee morning will be hosted by Mrs Winduss  at the P & F Room. I hope our parents are taking up the opportunity to reach out and make some more friends making up for lost opportunities and getting to know your fellow families.

Looking ahead to our last week of term on Tuesday 5 April many of our Year 3 students will be receiving their Sacrament of First Reconciliation at 7pm. They have been preparing for this and we wish them well. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.

The term ends at 3.30pm on Friday 8 April. Stations of the Cross will be held during the school week with student made displays throughout the school as we help to ensure our students further develop their understanding of Holy Week. This is a different way of doing this for us and we look forward to our students participating in it.

God Bless

As per our policy this will be our morning routine for absences:

Parents will be contacted as soon as practicable on the morning a student is absent via a text message.

If parent does not contact the school after receiving the text message, the school will contact the parent by phone. If the parent is unreachable the emergency contacts will be contacted by the school.

If there is still no response, and the school feels that the child is in danger, the police will be contacted.

Ongoing unexplained absences or lack of cooperation regarding student attendance will result in a formal conference being organized. Unresolved attendance issues will be referred to D.H.H.S.
