ARTS MATTERS

NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA

Over the course of the year, many of our Art classes have attended the National Gallery of Victoria to see a broad variety of exhibitions covering a variety of media.

MOMA AT THE NGV

Many classes went to see this incredible exhibition of artworks from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The exhibition included many “rockstars” from the world of art, including Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali, to name but a few. They also saw many contemporary artworks that presented personal, political and world issues in a dynamic and thought provoking way.

YEAR 10 CERAMICS EXCURSION

Last term the Year 10 Ceramics class attended an extremely informative floor talk exploring the history of ceramics. They saw and learned about ceramics artworks from thousands of years ago as well as from many different cultures.

TRIENNIAL EXHIBITION

The two Year 9 Art classes from Semester 1 were lucky enough to see this very popular exhibition that included many very instagramable artworks! :)

YEAR 11 STUDIO ARTS EXCURSION - SEMESTER 1

The Year 11s enjoyed a floor talk on materials and techniques and were introduced to Minimalism. They also viewed the annual Top Arts exhibition.
