LUNCHTIME SPORT - TERM 3
Table Tennis and Badminton enthusiasts were treated to an outstanding term of lunchtime sport in Term 3. A knockout tournament took place in both sports which culminated in the showcase Finals taking place during Asia Week.
In the Junior Table Tennis tournament, Harsh Sharma (Year 8) took on Zong Yu Li (Year 8) in the Final and it was the powerful Zong who ran out the winner.
In the Senior tournament, it was a battle between old sporting buddies Liam Taffe (Year 11) and Miles Sellenger (Year 11). Liam went in as the warm favourite and managed to handle the pressure and take out the table tennis trophy.
On the Thursday of Asia Week, the shuttlecocks were flying everywhere as both Junior and Senior doubles tournaments concluded.
In the Junior tournament, Kevin Feng (Year 8) and Marco Guo (Year 8) battled Harsh Sharma (Year 8) and Aaron Zachariah (Year 8). In an epic contest that went into sudden death, Harsh & Aaron managed to hang on and win.
The Senior tournament had a fantastic match up in the Final. Polished duo Jo Ee Lee (Year 12) and Khanh Nguyen (Year 12) came up against Lucas Liu (Year 11) and Zhibo Zhang (Year 11). In a stunning display of badminton, Jo Ee and Khanh went on to win quite comfortably.
Thank you to all participants over the course of the term and to the healthy crowds who supported their friends.
