Volunteer Interview

Anita Layzell

Why do you volunteer at BNPS?

I volunteer because my daughter goes to the school and I love being part of the school community. I also think it's important for our children to see us, parents, helping out where and when we can.

What year level is your child in?

Bethany is in Year Two and her teacher is the very funny Mr Ross.

What roles have you volunteered for during your time at BNPS?

I have helped in the Canteen, reading groups in Bethany's classes, the Colour Run and one of the most fun events has been running the 'Stress-Ball' making stall at the last Fete. Currently, I am helping out with Publicity for the 2020 Fete.

What is your background/current role (outside of BNPS!)?

I am a Graphic Designer and Artist; I also volunteer on the 'Sandy Street Art Project' and 'Live for Lily' Ball Committees.

What do you do during your spare time?

We love to go on family walks with our dog Mya, and Bethany and I also love doing all sorts of arts and crafts together.

What’s the best thing about BNPS?

The people. We have met some wonderful families, created life-long friendships and the community feel is really lovely.
