Hiroshima Day - 6 August

74 years ago, an atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. This term, Year 5 and 6 students learned a story of Miss Sadako Sasaki who was one of the victims of the bombing and died at the age of 12. People in Japan fold paper cranes to wish for good luck and our students have folded about 500 paper cranes this term. We will send them to the city of Hiroshima and they will be offered to the monument of Miss Sadako’s.

ARIGATO (thank you), Year 5 and 6 students for their wish for world peace!

You can find more information on this activity in the display cabinet outside the Office and on the Paper Cranes and the Children's Peace Monument website.

Othello Lunch Club

Lunch Club is on in the Japanese Room! Othello is one of the most popular Japanese board games and students can enjoy the game every Thursday at lunch time (2 - 2.30pm).

OMOSHIROI DES! (It is fun to play the game!)
