Meet ‘Jeff’, the scarecrow made by 5LW !
The end of the term is creeping up on us very quickly and the start of spring is bringing some lovely warm and sunny days. Please remind your boys that they need to have their hat each day to ensure they can play at recess and lunch and participate in all outdoor activities. A reminder to keep looking at SEQTA and See Saw for updates on your son(s) learning.
Fathers' Day Liturgy
We would like to thank all the Fathers and Special Male Role Models in our boys' lives who came to celebrate Fathers’ Day with us in Week 7. It was fantastic to see so many faces around the school. We started with a Liturgy which was run by the Year 2 class and then we celebrated with morning tea. We hope all the Special Men across the Blackfriars community, enjoyed a wonderful Fathers’ Day.
Student/Parent/Teacher Learning Conversations
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Learning Conversations last week to discuss your son’s learning. The partnership between home and school is a vital role in the progress your son makes.
Zoo Snooze
Thursday and Friday this week the Year 4 boys along with Mrs Holland, Mrs West and Mr Cheary enjoyed a sleepover at the zoo. They were very excited before they got going and we look forward to sharing the exciting adventures this group got up to on their overnight camp.
LEGO We-do Robots
Our Year 4 boys and Mrs Holland have been very busy! The class has been working on their LEGO We-Do robots!
They are building robots mimicking ‘predators’ or ‘prey’, and then programming their robots to move in such a way that they can either predate or act as an escaping prey.
Year 5LW Scarecrow
The Year 5 class were busy last week building a scarecrow for the vegetable garden. They have named him Jeffery and he is a welcomed addition to our community. They are hoping he will deter the birds from some spring planting that will happen in the upcoming weeks.
Year 5/6 Mathematics
Our Year 5/6 students have just completed their ‘Geometrocity’ assignments in Mathematics, and were happy to show them off!
