Day 1 Arrangements – Wednesday, 29 January 2020

Middle School

Students will start the 2020 academic year with level assemblies. Middle School students will meet their timetabled class teacher at the following locations for a 9:00am roll mark and assembly:

Year 7 students – Performance and Presentation Centre

Year 8 students – Senior Centre

Year 9 students – David Perry Hall

The majority of students' individual locker allocations will be organised during the first few days of school. Students should bring their electronic device and only essential resources for scheduled classes each day.

Senior School

All senior school students will participate in a celebration assembly held in the college stadium at 9:00am. The aim is to acknowledge our peers, their achievements and provide our student leaders with an opportunity to share information about the events planned for 2020.

Senior school students please follow the entry and exit procedure:

  • Use the below map to enter the stadium at the correct entry point.
  • Please find your teacher on the way into the stadium to get your name marked on the class roll.
  • Sit with your year level (Year 10 left side, Year 11 middle, Year 12 right side)

School Uniform

A reminder that now is a good time to check on summer uniform items and to make sure that students have all the clothing items that they require. Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the school if financial assistance is required.

The general office will be closed from 20th December until 28th January 2020.

Changes to mobile phone use in 2020

In 2020, the Department of Education and Training will be requiring schools to adhere to its new mobile phone use policy. We have been working through these new requirements to provide a smooth transition for students and staff for the beginning of the new school year.

More information is available for parents regarding this initiative on the Department of Education and Training website:

We would like to wish all our students, staff and families a safe and happy holiday. It has been a remarkable year of learning and student participation in all areas of the school. Thank you to parents and carers for the support you give to your child and to our school programs. We are looking forward to seeing you again in 2020.

Have you Checked Learning Tasks since 10 December?

Every year you can see Learning Tasks with comments and grades on the following dates: 12 March, 14 May, 25 June, 20 Aug, 15 Oct and 10 Dec.

These tasks will be flagged to show there is an indication of the Grade and Effort as well as a Comment.

The end of semester reports - which are a summary of each subject with Victorian Curriculum levels and grades for key tasks displayed -  will be published on Compass by December 17th . There will be no comments on end of semester reports. You will see comments on the dates listed above.

What this means for parents:

Parents will need to log into Compass and look at flagged Learning Tasks on or just after the dates published above. You will be able to regularly monitor student progress and see feedback about specific tasks and how students can improve.

What this means for students:

Students will need to ensure Learning Tasks are submitted on time with maximum effort applied.

You will be able to read comments and analyse rubrics to see feedback about specific tasks and how to improve. This allows you the opportunity to regularly monitor progress towards your goals.
