STATE SOCCER CUP
On the long weekend in June, I played in an annual soccer tournament called the Boy’s STATE CUP held at the C.Ex Stadium, Coffs Harbour. My team represented Inverell, Armidale, Gunnedah and Tamworth as the Northern Inland Football under 11’s team. We came up against some hard competition and our best result was a draw with the tournament winners [Newcastle Select]. Two things that I really enjoyed was getting ready in the new change rooms with my team and walking onto the field with the officials.
Ben Cini was also selected to play for the under 12’s and his team fought hard to be runners up. I thought this was an awesome experience and I’m already training for next year!!
These are some pictures of me and my team and also the International C.Ex Stadium Coffs!

PSSA HOCKEY TRIALS
From the 3rd to the 6th June, Angus Barwick represented the Armidale Diocesan at the PSSA Hockey Trials in Lismore. Angus played to his best and made some wonderful new friends along the way. The competition was tight amongst the top teams with the team only losing 1 game out of the 7 played, drew 2 and won 4. The boys finished 3rd in their pool and played off for 5th & 6th place against McKillop in the newly dubbed ‘Catholic Cup’ and won 5-2.
NSW PSSA GIRLS HOCKEY CARNIVAL
Good luck to Hannah Wakely and Molly Collett as they travel Newcastle to compete for the Polding Girls Hockey team next week at the NSW PSSA Girls Hockey Competition.

TOUCH FOOTBALL - GRAND FINALS
All students played with enthusiasm, energy and a huge dose of competitiveness. Unfortunately we were not victorious but lost with humility and great sportsmanship.

CODE OF CONDUCT
As the winter sports for the year are all beginning, this is a timely reminder for players, coaches and parents of the code of conduct expected at St Nicholas.
Those parents who have very kindly volunteered to coach a team are to be listened to and all instructions to be followed by players both at training and when competing. Should you have an issue with your child's coach please speak to them privately without your children being present. Show respect for your coaches and their decisions.
Parents should not interfere or enter the playing field during a game as the on field officials should be left to adjudicate. If parents have concerns they should approach the coach at a break and not the children.
Should a player, coach or parent not respect this code of conduct while representing St Nicholas it may prevent their inclusion in teams in the future as this is not the image that we wish to portray in the wider community.
