Stuart Hill (Class of 1989)

I am sure you can all remember being asked at least a hundred times “What do you want to do when you leave school?” For Stuart that answer was easy. He wanted to be a nurse and there was no doubt in his mind that was what he was going to become. He never thought he would be where he is today, working as a MICA Flight Paramedic at Air Ambulance Victoria.

Our year 7’s were lucky enough to have Stuart present to them during Term 2 at the Education Week Assembly, where he spoke about what led him down his career pathway. When asked about the most rewarding aspect of his job, he came back with an insightful quote from Einstein, “a life lived for others is a life worthwhile’. We are very lucky as a community to have someone so skilled and passionate supporting us in our times of need.

Stuart is pictured with 11-year-old Sam whom he had treated for significant spinal cord injuries several months earlier as a result of a high-speed car collision.

For those of you interested in seeing Stuart in action, below is a clip of a winch operation he conducted off a cruise liner in the Bass Strait.
