Subject Selection Information

The focus for this term is on supporting students with their subject selections for 2020. To this end, staff are asked to provide feedback on students readiness from progression in the next stage of their education. This feedback comes in the form of VCE Recommendations for Year 10 and 11 students and Readiness for Progression feedback in English, Science and Maths for Year 9 students.

Students are informed of what their teachers have said about their readiness for progression and encouraged to use this information to guide which subjects to choose when subject selections open up later in the term. In addition to teacher feedback, students and parents also have the opportunity to learn about the subjects on offer at the Senior Years Career Expo Day, where displays are constructed by staff to showcase their subjects and external presenters speak to groups of students about careers in different industries. Detailed information on subjects and pathways is also provided in the Yr 10 Course Description Booklet and Senior Pathways Handbook (attached).
