Middle School Report

Middle School News

Middle School has been very busy this term and students have been able to experience new opportunities and new curriculum in their subject areas. A lot of the 21st Century Learning skills can be applied across all subject areas and are interchangeable. This term has bought the cold, wind, rain and illness to many, but many students have shown resilience to keep on persisting even though they would prefer to be at home in bed. As the holidays approach I ask that all students have a good break, by catching up on sleep, hopefully soaking in some sun, not allowing technology to monopolize all the time and recharge the batteries. The Middle School Team look forward to seeing the students in term 4.

The girls work very hard behind the scenes and I thank them for all the work that they do for the Middle school

Year 7 have had a very busy two weeks. Firstly most of the cohort went to the Zoo and were able to see and speak with guides in regards to the animals at the zoo. Then the next day some of the students were able to attend Year 7 sport and played very well on the day. Throughout the school day most students are showing skills in organization and getting work completed.

Year 8 were able to go out on their sport day to represent  Wheelers Hill. The students are working very hard in completing work and are also communicating with staff members if required. This shows that they are becoming independent and taking ownership of the tasks at hand. Thank-you to all the students who submitted their posters on phubbing, created on the sport day.

Year 9

As the careers part of Urban Connections finishes this term, the Year 9's will have the opportunity in Term 4 to look at Urban issues. They will attend an excursion to the city and then they will go to different areas to volunteer their time to help in the community. This is a great learning opportunity for the Year 9's.
