PRE-PRIMARY BLESSING BAGS
On Friday, 9 November students from Pre-Primary walked to Bull Creek IGA and bought hygiene items with their Garden Open Day profits to make blessing bags for homeless people in Perth.
After raising $80.00 at their Garden Open Day, each group was given $15.00 to buy items. With some help, each group had to work as a team to buy items and use the calculator to add up if they had enough money. They were able to make 24 Blessing Bags which were filled with shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, razors and moisturiser.
Peter from The Salvation Army collected these Blessing Bags which will be donated to people in need.

RAAFA WALKING AND EXERGAMING
Throughout 2018 a group of Years 9–12 ASC students has been visiting residents at RAAFA, Bull Creek to connect and share a positive time together. Whilst on their visits, students sit and chat with residents, walk around the beautiful grounds of RAAFA and take part in 'exergaming’ – exercise video gaming. The group of students had their final visit last week and had a wonderful time with the residents.
NULSEN SAUSAGE SIZZLE FUNDRAISER
The Nulsen Youth Patrons have had a highly successful year supporting Nulsen Disability Service through a variety of activities, house visits and fundraisers. The 2018 team held their last fundraising event on Thursday last week, with a sausage sizzle and a soccer game in which the players weren’t allowed to talk. The event was a great success and raised $535 for Nulsen Disability Services.
YEAR 5 $2 PROJECT
Our Year 5 students recently participated in the $2 Project where each student is given $2.00 and uses that capital to make as much money as possible. Students invest the $2.00 and track the growth of the funds that they raise by applying mathematical principles and effective business models.
The students then tally the total amount raised and vote on which Service Learning partner to donate the total amount to. They are also given the opportunity to learn about the tangible positive difference their contribution will enable the organisation to make.
As part of the program, students design businesses and create products in which they can raise their revenue. Some of the products included dog walking, dog biscuits, jams, car washing, pot plants and succulents, calendars, face painting and more.
Well done to our 2018 Year 5 students who raised a total of $5 594 and have voted to donate their money to Nulsen Disability Services, a disability service that provides care for people living with complex disabilities of all ages. The students will be presenting a cheque to Nulsen this Friday morning.
