MS YAO NOMINATED FOR LANGUAGES AWARD

Congratulations to ASC Mandarin Teacher Ms Sophia Yao who has been nominated for the inaugural Outstanding Community Languages Teacher Award. The presentation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 28 November 2018 at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth.

AIDAN SELECTED FOR INFORMATICS SUMMER SCHOOL

The College congratulates Year 11 student Aidan Smith who was recently selected for this year’s Australian Informatics Olympiad Committee Informatics School of Excellence held at Burgmann College, Australian National University from Saturday, 1 December to Tuesday, 11 December 2018.

 

The invitation is a particular honour as the main purpose of the School will be to help identify and develop the skills of students who may become members of the Australian Team to compete at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2019.

Congratulations to Amy Johnson (Year 10) who recently performed at the Calisthenics Association of Western Australia Solo and Duo Competition. Amy performed in the 16 years Solo division and competed with her sister and Old Saint Kirsty Johnson (2016) in the duo.

WA ALL SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 

Well done to Hannah Rennick (Year 8) who ran a Personal Best time of five minutes and 34 seconds in the 1500m race on Friday, 2 November at the WA All Schools Championship. Hannah placed ninth, with seventh, eighth and ninth positions all within a second of each other.

 

This was a particularly impressive result after Hannah ran in the Triathlon for All Saints’ the day before.

Congratulations to Josh Spires (Year 11) whose photograph has been shortlisted in the City of Stirling Blink Photography Awards 2018.

 

Good luck to Josh who will attend the exhibition opening this evening at the Osborne Community Hub where all the award winners will be announced.

YEAR 5 SELECTED FOR MAISIE

Commendations to Sophie Reader (Year 5) who has been successful in her recent audition for the 2019 Fringe World show Maisie. 

 

The show will run on Friday, 18 January and Saturday, 19 January 2019 where Sophie will perform in the morning shows.
