PRESENTATION EVENING

Information relating to this event has been emailed to all Years 7–12 families.

 

The College Presentation Evening will be held on Friday, 7 December. All Year 12 students and other selected students need to be available for a rehearsal at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday, 7 December. This rehearsal is compulsory. Further information relating to the rehearsal schedule will be provided to students and parents closer to the event.

 

On the evening it is important that students meet the College uniform and grooming standards. The students need to ensure that:

  • They wear full winter uniform to this event.
  • Boys’ hair conforms to College regulations. Boys’ hair that is collar length or longer must be tied back. Boys need to be clean shaven.
  • If a student’s hair has been dyed or bleached in unnatural or contrasting colour, it needs to be returned to its natural colour.
  • Girls’ hair must also be of a natural colour and off the face. If hair comes to below the shoulder, it needs to be tied with regulation College colour hair ties and clips.
  • Uniforms need to be clean and presentable.
  • Shoes should be polished for the Presentation Ceremony.
  • No make-up or jewellery are permitted.
  • Skirt length on the girls’ uniform must be at the centre of the knee.

This is a compulsory evening for all students and attendance is expected. Students are expected to report to their Tutors at the beginning of the evening to have their names recorded on the attendance list. They will be sitting in Tutor Groups with their Tutors throughout the evening. 

 

Given the significance of the occasion, it is an expectation that all parents will attend to support and celebrate with their child. Families who are unable to attend are asked to contact Ms Helen Aguiar at helen.aguiar@allsaints.wa.edu.au by Monday, 26 November to have their apology noted.

 

Please note that it is not appropriate to drop children at this event to attend on their own.

 

Seating zones reserved for families will be clearly marked on the evening. Individual tickets will not be allocated to this event.

ON THE NIGHT

Students are to report to their Tutors in Pavilion 1 by 6.15pm. Tutors will conduct a uniform and attendance check and accompany the students to their allocated House/Tutor Group seating areas.

 

Award winners are to report to Ms Cameron and Mr Beath in Pavilion 1 at 6.15pm for a uniform and attendance check.

 

Parents and invited guests are to make their way into the Riverside Theatre and be seated by 6.50pm.

 

YEAR 12 STUDENTS

Year 12 students are to arrive at 6.15pm and report to their Heads of House in Pavilion 1 for a uniform and attendance check.  

 

Family photographs can be taken after the Presentation Evening formalities.

 

Year 12 students will be seated in the reserved Year 12 seating area.

 

Year 12 students must not forget to bring their Valedictory Sashes.

 

All Year 12 students, students receiving awards and students involved in items for this event are expected to attend rehearsal during the day on Friday, 7 December.

 

This event is a highlight of the College year and we look forward to seeing all families on the evening.

A CULTURE OF SAFETY AT ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE

All Saints’ College believes that the safety of our students is paramount. A Child Safe Organisation

As a child safe organisation, All Saints’ College:

  • takes a preventative, proactive and participatory stance on child protection issues
  • promotes a child safe environment as the main consideration in all of its activities and management practices
  • embeds child safety in its culture and ensures it is understood at all levels of the organisation
  • is maintained by a dynamic process of learning, monitoring and reviewing
  • builds child safe and child friendly environments
  • understands that the participation of children is fundamental

Building a Child Safe and Friendly Culture

The College has adopted the ‘Child Safe Organisations WA Guidelines’ to establish a framework around which to build a child safe and friendly culture. Creating and maintaining a safe and friendly organisation is a dynamic and ongoing process of learning, monitoring and reviewing processes and practices that affect the safety of young people within the College. The structure required to build a child safe and friendly culture is organised into nine domains, the seventh of which is ‘child friendly complaint process and reporting’.

 

Child Friendly Complaint Process & Reporting

Children and young people of all ages and abilities need to feel empowered and supported to raise any concerns they have and need to feel confident that staff and volunteers will do something about their concerns. Oversight of informal and formal concerns from all stakeholders includes analysis of issues and actions to address these.

At All Saints’ College we action this commitment in a number of ways inclusive of, but not limited to, the following examples:

  • Clear procedures and structures exist for staff, volunteers, families, children and young people to provide feedback, raise concerns or make formal complaints
  • All concerns from children and young people, staff, family and community members are taken seriously and acted upon
  • The College Values of Respect, Integrity and Courage guide our handling of feedback, concerns or complaints and our relationships with others
  • The College’s pastoral care structure provides pathways and multiple people, with whom trusting relationships are developed, to hear and take seriously any feedback, concerns or complaints
  • Adults with roles in the pastoral care structure for children and young people are proactive about providing care and support

YEAR 7 CHRISTMAS MARKET

Our Year 7s transformed The Common yesterday into a bustling marketplace for their annual Christmas Market.

 

Year 7 students have been learning all about the economic principles of business

and responding to consumer demand in their Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) lessons. In conjunction with their Creative Industries lessons, they designed some fun and innovative products that were sold over approximately 35 stalls.

 

All profits from the event will be donated to a College linked charity.

Any unsold items from the market will be available at Runway to purchase.
