F1 News
I can finally announce on behalf of our F1 in Schools Team, Terminal Velocity, that St Bede’s College will be part of Team Australia representing our nation at the 2016 F1 in Schools World Final.
The team was given a wildcard invitation to form a collaboration team. The other half of the team is from NSW (Maitland Grossmann High School.) As you can imagine there are going to be a number of challenges to overcome with the team being interstate. The students are very excited to begin preparations. The good thing is both of these teams got on really well at the competition and their strengths and weaknesses seem to balance out.
The National Coordinator outlined the reasons as to why both teams have been chosen to form a collaboration team and as a College we should be proud of these students who will represent St Bede’s College, Victoria and Australia on a world stage!
- Your results at the recent National Final show that with hard work, you have the potential to represent Australia at a World Final level and come home proud of what you WILL achieve.
- Your school has been faithfully committed to the program for many years, or you are a school new to the program who has shown unusual passion and enthusiasm in a short time. In either case your results speak for themselves.
- You are a College who as yet has not had the opportunity to attend a world final.
- You are a group of (in my opinion) gracious and humble students who have a genuine passion and enthusiasm to do well and to represent your College and country with honour.
There will be many updates in the coming weeks ahead, please support the students with their efforts. They will keep you posted.
I will finish with a picture of Synergy and Terminal Velocity from the National Finals, hopefully they will be just as victorious at the World Finals!
